All transition durations are now locked. I'm unable to adjust them... in ALL projects. Cannot drag them, cannot modify them. When I attempt dragging, the edit points turn red.
Never had this problem before. Did I inadvertantly change something?
Running FCPX 10.0.6 trial version, in my first week.

The red edit points indicate that there is no extra footage in the clip, so you can't extend the transition. This is normal. You need "handles" - extra footage at the end or start of a clip to make a transition.
One way to easily see the available handles is to open the "precision editor". Double-click the edit point to activate it. If you don't see extra footage after the edit point for the first clip, or before the edit point for the second clip, you can't extend the transition.

Thanks Luis. Yes, that's what it was. I was a bit confused about the precision editor adjustment vs the default duration setting. I believe I got it now. Thanks for your help!
