Copying library to new install of itunes

I have followed the instructins on how to copy my library to a new install of itunes by using an external hard drive.

Every file from my iTunes folder is in the new iTunes folder yet itunes does not see them.

I even tried i porting an album again, it just puts another copy of the files in the same folder and ignores the first set of files.

How can I get itunes to see the files?
