On my IPhone 4S I connect to google using the exchange connection to google. It works great and picks up mail, calendar and CONTACTS!
On my new Ipad I tried the same exact settings and it fails to connect to my google gmail account. All the seetings appear to be exactly the same as my phone.
HELP!

Google has discontinued Exchange support on free accounts. If a device was already connected that way, it can continue to use the services. However, you can't configure a new device that way.

I tried the carDAV option. as usual it did not work. It cycles through trying to verify for about 5 minutes then asks if I want to try without SSI. I say continue and after another 5 minutes it still fails. They obviously want me to use an android product.
