Inbox time stamp incorrect

I've seen this brought up several times with no satisfactory answer.

I just switched from Entourage to Mail, and every piece of mail, both imported and new, looks as if it arrived during the 7:00 hour.

I've sent myself several test e-mails from one account to another. A message I sent at 8:42 pm said it arrived at 7:42 pm.

You would think it's just a time zone problem... at first.

I sent another message at 9:05 pm. Mail says it came in at...

7:05 pm.

As an uber-loyal (and fairly proficient) Mac user, I'm perplexed, flummoxed even.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

The problem HAS to be with the app. Here's an example of a header, which shows the correct times (in GMT). The "Date Received" column in Mail says this message was received at 7:11 am.

Time zone is correct, and set to get the time automatically from Apple's server. The time and date in the Menu Bar are correct.

There are two reasons why I think the app is the problem:

1) The time in the Default Headers is correct;
2) Entourage was not doing this. This is only happening in Mail.app, which I decided to start using the other day.

Many thanks for your continued thoughts...

I have been trying to get any of the code gurus to explain why this is happening in the finder also.

(Gave up trying to get any explanation of what is going on with mail never showing the sender information in 'big message' alerts.)

SOMETHING in the guts of the OS is fubar in how it establishes the correct time and date information, just where is beyond my non-programmers knowledgebase to ken. At least on my G4 it appears to NOT be limited to just Mail.

GOOD luck getting any answers.

I noticed after posting my original message that this was happening in the Findert as well. I'm stumped, and frankly tired of people saying I have the wrong time zone set (I've been using Macs for almost as long as there have been Macs and know them pretty well). The hour in my system never changes from 7 (although the clock in the MenuBar displays the correct time..
