Upgraded to new iOS and contacts split into multiple records

Ok...I just upgraded to new iOS today as requested by my phone....my contacts were messed up...some names are replaced by company names, some phone numbers were split out into their own new records and some addresses were also split into their own records. There is no way I could match phone numbers with people again...anyone else have this issue?!?! A bit annoyed!
