My mac was running on leopard,its not working.i would like to retrieve the data from this harddisk.
Am currently using an imac with mountain lion on it.i managed to removes the hdd and got it fixed to an external casing.
Now the problem is ,its not mounting .

It sounds like the hdd has failed. If the drive can't be mounted then none of the software type rescue programs will work. If the data is valuable and important then you will need to seek a professional data retreival business to help you. This is also expensive.
when i plug into my imac,its showing initialize ,ignore and eject.
i can see the drive on disk utility.
