On one of my editors with FCPX 10.0.7 when you go to preferences it only give you an Edit preferences menu, the playback, import, and export options don't show up.
I reinstalled the ap still nothing any ideas?s

Yes, you can, but it's a free utility.
Go to Home/Library/Preferences and delete the com.apple.finalcut files.
