Remote Task Server not working

I hve been trying to get out Task Servers to work, but am having multiple outcomes. First of all, let me state that my Task Servers are at 10.8.2 and are on Mac Min Servers and I have have had different rsults from three different computers.

Case One - I use ARD on a 10.8.2 Server to use a Remote Task Server and it works! No problems. So far, so good.

Case Two - I use ARD on a 10.6.8 Server (iMac) to use a Remote Task Server and it works. Great! Two for two.

Cae Three - I us my laptop (MacBook Pro) that is at 10.7.5 to use a Remote Task Server. I am able to select a remote task server but when I try to install packages, I get the dreaded "The target computer "xxxxxx" is idle" message. The compputers are available, but it will not install. I went into the /Library/Application Support/Apple/Remote Desktop and did a Get Info. I noticed that I, even though an admin, did not have rights. I add myself, gave me read/write access, propagated and restarted my computer. After this it seemed to work. So I guess I can count thi as a success, but it does not work all the time.

Case Four - This is the one that has me pulling my hair out. I have another 10.7.5 client (MacBook Pro) and it does not work at all when I try to use the Remote Task Server. This is an admin workstation and they use ARD all the time. However, when we tried to setup the Remote Task Server, it would not let us. I was able to select the radio button Use Remote Task Server and put in the IP address of the server and the server name came up. If I switch to another tab like Security and then switch back, the radio button changes from Use Remote Task Server to Use Local Task Server. Very strange behavior and one I have not been able to fix yet.

I have a similar problem remote ARD task server is 10.6.8

Local ARD machine 10.7 using the 10 6.8 remote task server

Connects fine tasks send to the 10.6.8 remote ARD task server

Packages never install, computer(s) is idle messages although the computers are available

Using local task server packages deploy almost immediately

I think it maybe a ARD permission/ preferances setting problem

The remote 10.6.8 ARD task server is running as admin

The local 10.7 machine ARD is running as standard user, although I've loged in as admin

And given standard users full rights to all ARD features in ARD preferences on the local ARD machine

I haven't done so on the remote ARD task server

I think that maybe were my problem lie, I haven't had time to try this yet
