I deleted my icloud mail inbox, thinking the mail was all stored on my iMac, everything was deleted can this be recovered ? i did put it all in the trash and empted trash.

iCloud uses IMAP for Mail, so messages are stored on the iCloud server instead of being downloaded onto your Mac. It means that, if you have deleted a mail, you have lost it and you can't recover it.
However, if you are using Time Machine, you can still recover those deleted message. Just open Mail and then, open Time Machine app and navigate through your backups until you find the mails you want to restore. They will appear in the Mail sidebar, under "Recovered Messages"

I can see the deleted message subjects for Inbox in Time Machine. When I click Restore a folder named Time Machine > Inbox shows up on my Mac Mail sidebar, but the messages I saw in Time Machine aren't in there. Now what?
(BTW, I also checked for content in On My Mac > Recovered Messages)
