iPhone 5 battery drain -- new problems?
Just since yesterday, Feb 14 -- our two iPhone 5s, running different Apps, both on the Verizon network, are both seeing MUCH faster battery drain. Anyone else seeing this problem?

Ever since I did the new software update I've been having the same problem too. I'm thinking they will come out with another software update to fix it
I did the software update a few weeks ago, and noticed some degradation of battery life then -- but it went in hyper drive in the last 36 hrs. What changed?
Yup
Last 48 hours... Drain of 6% in the time it took to research this and post this reply
Tried disabling as much as I could but to no avail...
Are you linked to an Exchange calendar?
Yes, but have been for months now
There was a bug in iOS 6 that introduced a bug with Exchange calendars that was plugged with 6.0.1. 6.1 introduced a new problem with calendar invitations, i.e. if you refused a calendar invitation for something like lunch every third Thursday, or the invitee withdrew it, then it throws it into a calendar loop where the server and your iPhone are contantly talking to each other. This will rapidly drain your battery, heat up your iPhone and, if you have enough iPhone users affected, impact the Exchange server. Try disconnecting from the Exchange calendar, or delete your Exchange account and reenter it without activating the calendar, and see what happens to your battery.
Apple is aware of this issue and working on an update.
Not using an exchange server -- am using Google Calendar.
I'd hope so. But what's odd is that it only cropped up for me in the past 72 hrs. No issue post upgrade to 6.1, but still fast drain. Tried turning off location services, but that didn't seem to help. Bottom line: before Thursday, I would have about 50-60&% batter life after a typical day at the office (without plugging in). Thursday, I dropped to 8% and Friday to 28%.
If you have Gmail set up to push then your Google calendar may be using Exchange. Try stopping the sync with it and see what happens.
Disconnecting exchange didn't help much but a hard reset of the iPhone has done a world of good
I've only lost 10% in the last 2 hours (compared to 10 min as I was experiencing this morning)
