Autosave should replace save, not save as

Basically Apple thinks that everyone should be psychic and know that if they want the changes that they're planning to make to be in a different file then they have to deplicate first then add or make changes to a file. Everyday there are people who makes changes to a file after saving and then realize later that they want those changes saved as something else. This isn't a revalation. Just wow.. I love my macbook but god **** it, Apple. You're not making me want to get a new one.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Lion and Mountain Lion have local snap shots, Time Machine goes a long way to restore working files.

Hold the option key for" save as"

As long as your TimeMachine is turned on portables, Local Snapshots are stored for a day or two- only true for a few built in apps like TextEdit, Preview.
