Limiting Columns?

I am trying to create a custom invoice from one of Apple's templates. When I tab from the last column, it creates a new column, instead of wrapping to the beginning of the next row - which is what I expected it to do. A quick check of several templates in Apples collection resulted in the same response. So...

Is there any way to lock thatlast column and make the tab button wrap to the beginning of the next row?

TIA!

Unfortunately there is no control to force the behaviour you want. You can adjust the behavior of the return key in the Table inspector:

You can provide feedback to Apple via the menu item "Numbers > Provide Numbers Feedback"

Cheryl,

When you are finished with the entry in the last column, hit Return instead of Tab and you will be taken to the next row in the same column as your first entry. This only works this way if you follow a set pattern and if you have set the "Return Key move to next cell" option in the Table Inspector. If you jump around the pattern will be broken and it will not behave as you wish. Experiment with a new scratch table and you will see what I am describing.
