Q: Dead MacBook Pro !!

Oh No !! My MBP just died.....:-(

 

In the middle of plugging in my ipad mini, I plugged in the USB cable and the MBP just died, went black.  No sleep light, won't switch on again, no green lights on the charge indicator at all, no charging light if I plug in the power cord.  Nothing.  Just a black screen.  And I'm stuck at a remote location for another 2 weeks....

 

Help !

    Life saver!

    Same happened to me - completely dead MBP.  Disconnected the battery for a few minutes, made myself a coffee, calmed down, reconnected and it all seems to be working.

    I did the battery disconnect on my late 2011 15 inch MacBook Pro, and it worked. Brilliant fix, thank you to all of you who shared that. I had the battery disconnected for about five minutes. Put it back together, plugged in the mag charger, the light came on on the charger, and my MacBook Pro started up flawlessly. BTW, my battery was 95% charged, and I had been charging a device via USB when the MBP died.
