iphoto and email
iphoto11 is not sharing photos by email. Triangle error symbol appearing. Email is hotmail account. Have recently upgraded software Java? Don't know if this makes a difference.

It worked fine before I went on holiday! Highlighted photo, clicked email icon, typed address pressed send. Now when I do that error box appears with yellow triangle but doesn't tell me what the error is.
So you're sending from iPhoto? Not from an email application?
Yes trying to! I can just put photo on desk top and send it from ordinary email (which I have done ) but it's not as convenient.

It should not. I'm reasonably certain that neither app ever used Java at all and the OS seemingly hasn't used it for many years, but your profile doesn't indicate what type of Mac or OS you are using.
Computer is Mac OS X v.10.6.8
It's very odd as my ipad will email from photo app.
I have checked all preferences. I have uninstalled Java update just in case it had anything to do with it but still no joy.
I have partially solved the problem myself as I have created another new e mail account (different server) in "mail" and iphoto now sends photos from this new email address. I still don't know why it won't send them from my old e mail address but at least it's better than not sending them at all.

I can't believe it!!!! . I have solved the problem myself. On the strength of the 2nd email account working I added my original one again and it worked. The only difference I can see was in description Hotmail as apposed to hotmail.co.uk.
So anyone with the same problem of iphoto not emailing photos try:
Drop down menu from iphoto.
Click preferences.
Go to accounts .
Click + symbol at bottom and add server and email address as instructed.
Test if it works, if it does,
Delete old email address which didn't work.
