synching iphone 5 with PC

I'm setting up new iphone5 with a PC and trying to establish correct protocols for synching; duing synch of calendars Pc warns me that more than 25% of data on PC will be changed, indicating that synch is going from mobile to PC : how do I get data to merge or have PC rule?
