My iphoto is empty. When i try to restore from time capsule we can't find anything for iphoto. When i open iphoto and then hit time capsule it is blank. Any suggestions on how to get our photos back.

What do you see in your iPhoto Library window? How big is the library when checked in the Finder? Select the iPhoto LIbrary and type Command + i to bring up the Info window for it:
If the size is large enough to suggest your photos may be in the library package report back and we can go from there.
As for Time Machine, here's how to restore a library with TM:
