I have changed my apple id and password and have lost all my past purchases from my account and on cloud, any suggestions please?

After changing my apple ID and Password and ITunes ID and password, I have lost all my previous purchases of music, over 1000 songs in my account and therfore there is now nothing in the account other than a new purchase, I would appreciate any advice.

iPad, iOS 6.1
