My grandparents just got an iPad. They do not have Internet, but are on a Verizon data plan with a phone number. we r trying to get their FaceTime working, but it keeps telling is to connect to wi-fi which we cannot since they have no Internet. The cell data is connected and working, but I did notice that their cell number isn't a contact on the FaceTime, only their email that they created.

What model iPad did they get? FaceTime over cellular only works with an iPad 3, iPad 4 and iPad Mini running iOS 6.x.

If they got an iPad 2 and it's been less than 14 days since purchase, take it to an Apple storte to get a refund and then buy a newer model iPad.
