Why the trial version continues to crash?

I downloaded the trial version of Final Cut with maybe the idea to buy.

It continues to crashes...though I don't lose the latest edits...just absolutely annoying...is it the best this app can do?

I have a prety big (power) imac

so it is not really bout minimun requirements

Let me know

Cheers

Thanks I guess I was trying to push more info but didn't come out.

Here the story

I am editing a series of GOPRO trailers (30mps) HD

The app seems to work fine but I notice has some difficulties to keep up with the frames.

I was just using the razor to trim or do other basic functions and suddenly it crashes.

It reopens with no loss...great mac.

GoPro is usually H.264 in an MPEG-4 wrapper. This media should be optimized in FCP or converted before it's brought into the application. Check the frame rate of the original files in the QT player's movie inspector. See if they are 30fps or 29.97. Check the audio as well. It's probably compressed. Optimizing will convert it to uncompressed. What drives are you using? The internal? A fast external would serve you better, especially with optimized media.
