Q: Zoom is broken in iOS 6

I need a response from Apple if possible. My iPhone and iPad have changed my life, with their accessibility features (I am legally blind). In iOS 6 the zoom option has become much less functional than in all previous iterations. I would have never updated. Now, half the time iOS 6 register me trying to move the screen with three fingers, as a double tap, and will only allow me to zoom in or out. This is extremely frusterating considering how easily I used to be able to navigate the screen. Much of the time I have to slightly zoom in then out, let go, and then retouch with three fingers just to move around. Apple has made me feel non-disabled by including these features in their devices, so please will someone who can include this in an update to the software as soon as possible and fix this problem?

    I'm not sure I understand the issue. You have to enable Zoom a little bit before the three-finger gesture will work. Otherwise you would use the normal swipe and pinch/zoom getures to move around a page.

     

    When you increase or decrease the zoom level, you will have to stop that gesture by lifting your fingers and then start the new gesture of a three finger swipe to move the page.

     

    If I have misunderstood the issue please let me know. If you want to report the issue to Apple, you would need to contact AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple Retail Store to chat with one of the people there.

    I wouldn't blame you for misunderstanding. More, I probably explained it poorly.

     

    I have used zoom every day since the 3gs came out and I was able to use my first smartphone. I am pretty familiar with it. The issue I have noticed with iOS6 is persistent across devices as well, as it occurs on my iPad.

     

    I was not sure if you were suggesting that going into an apple store would result in an iOS patch to fix this, as I thought the odds of that would be unlikely?

     

    Is there a part of the development team for accessibility within apple that I could contact perhaps? Thanks very much for replying to this I really appreciate it.
