Replaced my hard drive...updated iTunes...how do I get all my playlists and songs back???

My playlists are gone!! I still have what I had on my iPhone...but I can't see it in iTunes.

I have it backed up but can't seem to get back what I had in the old iTunes.

Help!!!!

Looks like that is an individual file. Try to locate that file and delete it, and try again. If not, then if you have purchased your songs legally through itunes, all you have to do is log into your itunes account, and of you have itunes 10, on thr right side of itunes after you log in, click your library, and see the drop down menu. You will see a link for 'Purchased'. (see image below). Then you can just re-download all of your songs and content that you have purchased with that account there. Please remember that if you have made any purchases on other accounts, you would have to log into that account to re-download. Hope this helps.

1. In the Finder, open a new window and click Music in the left-hand sidebar.

2. Now click the Time Machine icon in the Dock to enter the Time Machine UI. Let the backups load; it may take a few seconds.

3. Navigate back in time to the point from which you want to restore the iTunes folder.

4. Click Restore; wait for the iTunes folder to be restored.

5. Launch iTunes. Enjoy your music.

You may or may not be prompted to authenticate, so be prepared for that.

When I do this and go into the Time Machine app...for some reason I can't go back beyond the point when I installed a new hard drive. But it looks like it's still there when I open the external hard drive. It's plenty big enough...I'm not sure why I can't access it.

Because the new hd is not linked to the Time Machine version.

Hold Option and select the Time Machine icon and select Browse other disks.

Then select the iTunes folder and Restore.

In my iTunes folder in Time Machine there is "Album Artwork, iTunes library Extras.itdb, iTunes Library Genius.itdb, iTunes Library.itl, iTunes Music, Mobile Applications, and Previous iTunes Libraries. Whenever I try to move these to my new hard drive I get denied because it says I don't have permission to move certain files. I can't even delete files because I don't have permission...
