I had to restore my iPod when I bought a new computer and it won't update the IOS. iTunes tells me it is up-to-date, but all the apps say I need IOS 5. How can I update this? Thanks

If you are using IOS 4, you need to connect to iTune (computer) to update software.
Update to IOS 5 or higher
Sorry to say but you have a 2 nd generation iPod touch because it only updates to 4.2.1 and 3rd gen goes to 5.1.1 and 4th gen goes to 6.1 don't know who told you it was a 4 th gen iPod touch they were wrong.
How to update iPod touch 4 Gen to current IOS? It is 3 years old and won't update past IOS 4.2.1.
