Purchased App "Mr Giggle" gone. Only new "version 2" available

I purchased an App called "Mr. Giggle". When trying to install it again on my new Ipad, I couldn't find it anymore for re-download. There is only a new version 2 available now which would force me to pay again.


Is this really possible? Can they just remove apps I paid for and make me pay again?

Hi hitman,


Go into your Apps Store icon on your iPad, and click on the Purchased option. All of your purchased Apps will show there. You will either see a little cloud next to the App, or "Installed" next to it. If it says "Installed" then it thinks you have the app on your iPad. If it shows the cloud, you can click on that to download it.


If it shows "Installed", and you don't think you have downloaded it, check to make sure it isn't somewhere on the iPad. Do a spotlight search to see if you can find it.

I've tried that already. Actually the app I mentioned "Mr. Giggle" seems to have both disappeared from the App Store and also from my "purchased apps" section in the Ipad.


I've never seen something like this before - it appears the developer has removed the app and instead put in a new version under a new name (by adding a "2" to the name).

Yeah, so apparently, the developer can remove an app from the App Store altogether, or replace it (as in your case) with a different version. If you have the app on your device, you are good to go, but if you need to re-download it, you no longer can do that....😢


Pretty much the only thing left for you to do is to contact the developer, or put a Customer Comment on the new app with a thumbs down....
