How do i adjust the sensitivity of my track pad?

When I use my track pad it is too sensitive. If I leave the cursor over something very long it chooses it without me doing anything. If I deleat an email and leave it there, it deletes the next email without me touching it. It seems too sensitive and I can't figure out how to change it. It brings up the submenu all of the time too without anything much from me.
