Welcome to the Apple Community.
Yes, restore your phone from your last back up.
Thanks Winston but I am thousands of miles from home right now where I could connect this to the computer which I did my last backup on two months ago if that is what you are inferring?
I will not be home for another five months either. I'm out on a big world tour right now.
Being away for so long, did you not enable iCloud back up.
I did not know about it. That's what I thought I was doing today. And now I've wasted hours trying to figure out how to get my calendar back that had tons of information on it of upcoming shows past shows and small journal entries. Why in the world would Apple design a system that would wipe out your current calendar on your phone?
Utterly terrible programming.
They haven't designed a system that deletes data, this has most likely occured because of a misunderstanding over how iCloud works.
Have you tried turning off calendar syncing in settings > iCloud.
When I go to do that it comes up with this question
What would you like to do with previously synced iCloud calendars on your phone?
Keep on my iPhone
Delete from my iPhone
Which do I choose to hopefully not create more headaches and or restore?
I assume you don't currently have any iCloud calendars on your phone, in which case I would choose delete.
Thanks winston. I gave that a shot and unfortunately I had no luck. Still no old calendar. Totally wiped. Hating CrApple right now!
I had my doubts but have seen that old calendars have reappeared for some.
