iTunes, iBooks and app store constantly crashing

How can I stop iTunes, app store, and iBooks from crashing constantly on my gen 1 iPad?

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.7)

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?


Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.


Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off"

Whenever you have multiple Apps crashing one has to suspect that there could be something wrong with the hardware.


There is another possibility: iTunes, App Store, and iBooks all may require access to the network. There could be some sort of network problem/coruption which is underlying the problem.


Try the iPad on some other networks.
