I have an adaptor for hdmi I use on my ipad 2 which works fine. When I hook it up to my ipad mini through the 30 pin lightening adaptor it say device not supported by ipad. Why?

Does the hdmi adaptor which works with ipad 2 work through the 30 pin adaptor to lightening? I keep getting that it doesn't recognize the device

It works fine on my ipad2

The 30pin x lighting adapter is only good for charging the new devices using the lighting plug. If you want to use the HDMI feature, you must buy the new HDMI x Lighting adapter. These are little things that Apple does not inform the public about when changing components such as the connector. I have both the iPad Air and the Mini iPad that uses the new lighting adapter and found the same error.
