RADIO MISSING IN ITUNES 11

So I'm a US user with a 3 year old Macbook Pro (10.6.8)... does this mean that I will never be able to get iTunes radio on my laptop even with the new update to 11.1?

When I check for software updates, my computer says I am fully updated. Do I really need to upgrade to a whole new operating system for this?

did you try clicking on Library? and make sure you are signed into iTunes Store?

Correct 10.6.8 is what I have on my older mac too, that is the latest update for snow leopard, thus we will never have itunes radio inside our computers itunes, but we have it on our ios7 iphones. This is what applecare engineers told the senior advisor tech helping me this morning . That's fine as long as nothing is wrong/broke on my end...I have iheart radio and pandora on my mac fine... so I'm not tripping on it.

I have the latest version of mountain lion and have just done an iOS7 update on my phone and don't have the itunes radio in either. Is this right?

I posted in another thread about this. I'm in the same boat. Perfectly good iMac that won't go beyond 10.6.8.
I guess that's the downside to having REALLY good hardware! 😉

Anyway, it's odd that Pandora and Spotify run with no problem, but Apple couldn't get Radio working on these systems?

After playing around a while with Radio on my iPad, I can honestly say I don't feellike I'm missing anything at this point in the life of Radio. Maybe later versions, but for now, it is nowhere near as good asPandora. Of course, YMMV.

Radio seems EXTREMELY geared toward driving the listener to that all-important purchase. I got no beef with that; gotta keep the mothership fueled! But as a music lover and listener? I will stick with Pandora on all my devices for the time being.

This isn't the place for you to level your critique about Radio.

Seems like you're just trolling than anything. Not really the kind of thing people enjoy here when trying to get some sort of support from the community.

Up until two days ago I had ios7 and 10.8.5 on my iphone 5 and macbook air (2013) respectively and Radio was working on both.

It's now working on my phone and not my computer which strikes me as odd.

Pretty sure it's NOT trolling to extoll the build quality of the average Mac, of which I have owned and worked with a good many since 1988.

My comment was RELATED to the fact that Radio won't work for those of us with older, BELOVED Macs. For those folks, I was simply saying, "Yes, it won't work for us, but for NOW, maybe we shouldn't feel too bad about it," as it may not be what many of us where hoping for, going so far as to add "at this point" in the life of the service. As with most things Apple, I'm sure it will get better as it evolves.

Sometimes, hearing that you may, in fact, NOT be missing out, is VERY supportive. But I'm sure you know that; you seem EXTREMELY spportive and understanding...

While that's fine people here are trying to figure out WHY it's not working (when it was and/or should be).

Your comment is like telling me that my 10 year old car while still drivable is fine and I shouldn't worry about getting a new one even though I really want it.

It was just a comment, related to MY experience in discovering Radio wouldn't work for me, hence the "YMMV."

I was having the same problem, and I somehow got it to work, although my preferences still don't look like other people's preferences (prefernces till only show internet radio, not itunes radio).

I reinstalled iTunes, but I still didn't see radio in the toolbar (I did see internet).

I went to preferences / parental / and checked "internet radio" to disable it, hit okay.

go back into prefernces and uncheck it, hit okay.

That last thing seemed to toggle something and now I see Radio in the toolbar and can get into to iTunes radio, as well as the old "internet" thing.

I hope this helps someone else.

iTunes Radio is not in Preferences.

Same situation here. Basically this error shows up when i tried to open iTunes Radio with this link

It sounds like you might have been in the same boat as me. I had iTunes Radio working fine for several days on my 3 year old MBP running OS 10.8.4, then it seems like it was perhaps on launch date of iOS 7 that I lost it. Just like you, I was listening to it, it suddenly stopped working and the button disappeared after a few minutes of clicking around trying to get it back on.

I followed through this whole thread trying to turn on "Internet Radio" in Preferences and clicking the "iTunes Radio" link in the store to no avail. Then I remembered I was running iTunes 11.1 beta.

So I tried just downloading the installer for the latest version from Apple.com (http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/), ran the install and voilá, iTunes Radio is back on and running.

Hope this works for those that are running the latest OS that are having the issue.
