my computer crashed holding my music. i am buying a new computer. how can i transfer my ipod music to my new computer

my computer crashed which hold my music. i have to buy a new one. what will happen when i plug my ipod to my new computer to add music. willl it wipe out my ipod? am i going have to reload all my cd again? i have new cd and i want to add them to my ipod but scared to do it. please advise!!!
