where do you store/organize your movies?

i've recently switched to mac. and have noticed that there are a lot of places to store/organize movie files - iTunes can play some types, iPhoto can play others, - then there's the Movie folder. but there's not a place to "store/organize" within iMovie.

i realize iMovie is to "create" and not to archive necessarily as iphoto and itunes do.

i originally put my movies in the movie folder, but when i wanted to transfer to my ipod i had to import to itunes thus creating another copy. and then with my "clips" done on my digital camera they imported into iphoto.

so i'd rather not create duplicates of movies (will fill up hd quickly) and i'd rather have a convenient place to view all my movies.

any suggestions or ideas.

I have not used it, but there is an application called iDive:
http://www.aquafadas.com/

that seems to be an iPhoto-like organization for movies. Could be just what you are looking for.
Just remember that movies can take up lots of space, so this is probably better for those short movie clips we all seem to keep on our computers.

If you are making many long/large movies, a better way to store/save is to export to DV tape via camcorder.
