My iPod will not shut off or return to the home page. I just downloaded a bunch of music and have a lot of important things on it that I do not want to lose. Help!

Perform a Reset...
Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.
