"Use RAW as Original" not working

I have many images that have the "J" badge overlay, indicating that they are JPEG images part of a RAW + JPEG pair. Yet, if I try to select "Use RAW as Original" the option is not available. The RAW images are still in the referenced folder and when I try to import "Matching RAW files" the Importer indicates that there are none available (I checked the "Do not import duplicates" box). Help? Thanks!
