copying old playlists to a new computer

I used home sharing to get my old music on my new computer, but it did not get my playlists - just the songs

Then I tried following the directions on the apple support page to use an ipod to transfer to a new computer - and again - the songs showed up but not the playlists.

Any idea how to fix this?
