I am having an email come back as a recovered email, every 10 seconds filling up my hard drive. I need to stop that from happening.

How do you stop a recovered email from coming back repeatedly? I sent an email to my wife with pictures, it keeps coming back to me every 10 to 15 seconds and is saved to hard drive in the user/mail folder. I need to figure out why it keeps doning this. Would it be my email service(AOL) that is doing this?
