Just bought a Canon Pixima MG 4250 printer which is supposed to be for Airprint. Cannot get iPad to locate printer. Has anyone experienced this problem?

Just bought a Canon Pixima MG 4250 printer which is supposed to work for AirPrint. However, cannot get it to work with iPad . Get message no AirPrint printers found. Any ideas on resolving problem? Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I went to the Irish canon site and tried to download an update for the firmware but got a response that none was available.


I think these products should not be allowed the AirPrint logo unless they are already configured or update their software automatically. Probably time to try and return it to the retailer!

I have the same printer Canon MG4250 and had the same issue after an OS X update.


After several other trials this helped:


in System Settings > Printers and Scanner > then click on the "+" button.


I got these entries:


User uploaded file


When I tried the entry Bonjour or Bonjour Multifunction I could not connect to the printer resp. it was not shown in the printers to add.


After selecting the entry "Canon IJ Network" it worked for me.
