This iPad is supervised by another computer.....
I help to administrate a cart of iPads for a Pre-K classroom. The teacher enabled restrictions after being told expressly not to, and immediately forgot the passcode. We've been able to reset the passcode by editing the back-up file. One iPad is being difficult.
When we were exploring how to manage our growing inventory of iPads, we experimented with Apple Configurator. We ran Apple Configurator on an iMac that belongs to me personally (that I use as a "lab" to break and fix at will). Once we were confident that we wanted to use Apple Configurator we purchased a new MacBook Pro and went on our merry way. (about a year ago).
When I plug the difficult iPad into the MacBook Pro, it says "This iPad is supervised by another computer and cannot be used by this computer". The Supervision Profile on the iPad indicates that it is being supervised by my "lab iMac.", as evidenced by the listed MAC address. That iMac has been re-imaged and re-configured several times in the interim, and plugging the iPad into it yields the same message. I'm in the process of upgrading it back to 10.7 so that I can load Apple Configurator back on it, but I'm skeptical that it's going to work. I tried the obvious restoring to factory defaults on the iPad, but the ill-advised restrictions are preventing that. Holding the power button and home buttons isn't working, either.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
