Issues with Home Sharing

I'm trying to get my old library from my old computer onto my new laptop. I followed all the steps apple gives you to do this through home sharing, but it hasn't worked. After completing it twice, the only computer that has the shared library icon is my old one, rather than my new one. If someone could help out, that'd be awesome!
