Is it possible to register your 27" Thunderbolt display?
If yes what to do if during the register process the product cannot be found: message :
The serial number was not entered correctly. Please re-enter the serial number. Ensure you have not mistaken letters for numbers or vice versa.

That's the website I tried, but doesn't accept the serialnumber.
Double check your serial number is correct. Are you getting it from the box or from the Unit itself?
Like the message says you may be mixing up letters and numbers such as zeroes and the O, or maybe a 1 and an l.
If you still can't get it to work, call Apple Support. You get 90 days free phone support, so why not make use of it.
Very strange, I took the serial from the box, and as well from the invoice. Tried it again, but now took it from the screen, and indeed I one 0 was mixed up. Seems barcodes on the boxes aren't that correct as well.

Yeah, I used mine from the box and it was correct - had it on the invoice, too. But those serial numbers can be tricky (kind of like activation codes for some software these days) so I'm not surprised that there was some sort of 'gotcha!' in the SN.
