AirPlay Mirroring option does not appear when I click on Apple TV option on my iPod 4th gen with iOS 5.0.1

Because it is only for the 5G iPod (you need an iOS device with an A5 processor)

Actually when you update to 6.0 the airplay icon will appear if you download it.
