hey guys my imacs wifi its damaged, and i wanted to know what is exacly a airport extreme base station. is it like a sort of wifi antenna that search for wifi and you get acess to the internet, simular to my imacs internal airport? is it compatible with my imac late 2006 snow leopard 10.6.8? and i really want to know this one is it stronger than my owns computer internal wifi which is the airport? is it faster?

a wifi router is a much better way to share internet between from 2 to 100 diffrent devices both wifi and wired which needs access to the same internet connection
ok but my question is my uncle leaves right next to me and he gives me acess to his internet via wifi but my airport is damaged how can i connect to the internet now with cables and stuff. i always though the airport express was wireless like it searches for internet and you can acually join a wifi conection.
i ment with out cables and stuff i want everything via wifi.
