How do you type exponents on Mac?

This worked for me - Open you pages document, and type the main number. To get the "exponent", hold down the following keys - shift, control, command, then click the + sign key, then release them. Now type the exponent number.

Depending on the font you are uesing, there may be exponent characters. Then also, Pages can do baseline shifts.

Just want to add that the short key is a toogling one. You us the sam short key to ceeate a superscript and the again to get back to normal.

Can this work for letters to? I'm trying to type r as an exponent but I don't have a Mac to do this with.

Using the key stokes you recommend Karen I am able to type the exponent but how do I turn off exponents? I tried following the same series but that doesn't seem to work. Thanks

Choose Use Default from this menu hierarchy in Pages v5.6.1. Simple menu investigation.

Yes, you can make anything you want, even an entire sentence, an "exponent" by using the menu items for changing the baseline. Many word processors have this feature.
