I went through Keynote to create a movie from a PowerPoint (including a soundtrack) but the video quality is very poor in the final product. Is there a way to fix this?
You must encode the video to an iMovie compatible format:
MPEG-4, standard DV, HDV, AVCHD, Apple Intermediate Codec
Thank you Gary, ... but I don't see those choices anywhere after starting the export command. I chose "Export to Quicktime" and my choices were "Full, medium, small, custom". How do you encode the video, ... ?
file > export > Quicktime > custom > then select one of the codecs: MPEG-4, standard DV, HDV, AVCHD, Apple Intermediate Codec and use full size in the options.
Thank you again Gary, ... found all this, but it didn't work. Picture resolution is still terrible. I appreciate your efforts.
what codec did you try?
what are the pixel dimentions: inspector > document slide size?
I tried MP4, Pixel dimensions are 720x540, and the whole powerpoint (Keynote presentation, now) is 67.8 mb.
everything sounds OK for settings.
You could try a three slide test with a completly new presentation and different images to see if theres something unusual with the contents you have.
