Charging the battery

I have this Apple Ipad 3rd generation with Wi-Fi plus cellular. 2 Questions on the battery. At what level of charge do I recharge and secondly, for what period do I recharge? Thanks

For the longer life cycle most people want, it is best to charge a Lithium-technology battery when the charge drops to about 50%...time to charge will vary for line-power, computer USB port, etc. Should only take a few hours to fully recharge.

Hi Karen, despite the Apple recommendations, if you read the results of an independent test group called the Battery University you will see they found that deep discharging to shutoff significantly shortens a Lithium-Ion battery's life. Best comptromise for charge/use/longevity looks to ba discharging to 50%.
