No recorded audio

Hi,

I am using a new iPad mini and the latest version of iMovie downloaded today.

When I try to record audio in the iMovie application to add narration, although the sound bar moves when I speak, when I try and review the audio there is nothing.

If I add the audio to the project I can see the wave on the audio track, but again, when I play, nothing.

Suggestions?
