Disappearing iOS mail signature images

Suddenly, over the last 3 or 4 days, my iPhone and iPad signature is missing the image.

I keep deleting the old signature and try to re-paste it, and it shows up for a short time, then disappears. My text still show up, but the image keep disappearing.

It's always worked fine before, but now I can't figure out what the problem is. Any ideas?

Thought I'd post another little tidbit. It is VERY easy to replicate the problem;

1. Start with a fresh boot / launch of the iPad.

2. Copy the email signature, inclusive of the image you want. Mine happens to be the one I created on my MacBook which I get from an existing email.

3. Go to Settings> General>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Signatures and paste the signature there.

4. Switch back to the mail app via multi tasking and click the new mail icon.

5. The signature inclusive of the image (correctly) appears.

6. Completely close the Mail and Settings applications.

7. Open the Mail app once again and repeat step #4

8. The signature now appears EXCLUSIVE of the image. It is instead replaced with a white box with a thin black border.

I can reproduce this at will. Apple: Again, please fix this!

Been having same issue. Have a branded logo jpg image I have copied to my signature and it works for one or two emails, then disappears (gray band around white box). Frustrating! Seems like an easy fix. Come on, Apple!!! This feature is awesome and would make my love of apple mail on iPhone and iPad so much better!!

I've done all the tricks to try and get the picture to remain in my signature:

Took an email, forwarded it and copied image from that email and pasted into the mail settings signature field. Nope. Doesn't remain after a few emails. Reduced image size to double digit kb, and still no luck. Tried using png, tif and jpg all to no avail.

Help fix it, Apple!!

After much time messing around with this I figured out the issue. It is the way WinDoze (Outlook) formats the HTML E-Mail signature!

I tried publishing an HTML through many ways and it always lost the pictures and sometimes even the formatting. I knew I needed to get it into an Apple compatible format but could not figure out how, copying it just copies the text and leaves out the pictures so here is what I did!

1. Copy the entire signature from an existing E-Mail. (or create your own)

2. Paste it into TextEdit.

3. Save it as a RichText document.

4. Open the document and select the entire signature.

5. Open Mail and paste the signature into a new E-Mail.

6. Send it to yourself.

7. Open that Email on your iPhone. (or iPad) {I have not tried it on an iPad but I assume it will work the same}

8. Click on your signature and "Select All".

9. Go into Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calenders>Signature.

10. Click on the account you want to use or use all accounts.

11. Paste the text into the box.

12. Shake your iPhone and click on "Undo Change Attributes". <--VERY important! (It updates the formatting when pasting)

13. Send an E-Mail and check out your awesome new signature!
