gigabit ethernet on 2009 iMac

just upgarded my isp to 150/mbps download can't get to work on early 2009 imac, i change the hardware setting from auto to manual on ethernet card says its connected, and nothing, have to set back to 100mbps and then it works again....at 100mbps
