I have an imac that displays these symptoms, but it does it totally randomly, even if the machine and display are set to never sleep. Is a fix likely to be released?

The article suggestions didn't fix the problem?

I'm seeing this on a headless Mac mini Server when trying to use Screen Sharing to another Mac on the same local network. I remote into the server via TeamViewer or even when onsite using Apple Remote Desktop. NONE of the fixes in the referenced article apply. All Macs are running 10.8.4, none of the Macs are set to log out after inactivity. It's completely repeatable and nearly impossible to work around. Dragging a file over the window (just don't let go or it will copy) refreshes the screen, but it immediately freezes again so no updates can be seen.
Other people have reported problems when the Mac mini is headless. If you have a way to connect an external monitor to the Mac mini, it might be worth a try.
