password rejected ipod touch

Ok for no reason, the passord on my daughter's ipod 5 stopped working.. It says "Ipod disabled try again in 1 min" When we try again it says "Try again in 5 mins" Why does the password suddently stop working? Anyone had this issue? Thanks
