Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

Where is the "What's new" field?

I'm having trouble updating a book because I can't find this field.

iBooks Author will export your updated book for iTunes Producer. Follow the on-screen instructions in iTunes Producer to finish publishing your updated book to the iBookstore. Most of the required fields will be filled in for you, but you will need to include text in the "What's New" field to update your book.

Anyone know where it is? Also do I have to list every change I've made?

Thanks

User's love to know what's in the new version so they don't have to guess 🙂

Just hit the hilights....don't bother with details. If it's just a clean up, say something like "Minor edits for readability. No content/pages added. Thank you for downloading [book name here]".

The 'What's New' field is directly below the 'Book Description' field on the right, in the 'Book' tab at the top, 'Info' tab at the bottom. It only shows when loading an existing book.

Hi, I am with 2.9 version and have not "What's New" field in the Book tab. Help said:

"Most of the required fields will be filled in for you, but you will need to include text in the "What's New" field to update your book."

But just title field is filled in. I have to re-filled all fields in all tabs.

I don't understand why fields are not filled in and why I have not the "What's New" field.

Another point, alert message about requested "What's New" comes after complete package upload, not before.

Thanks to anyone coming with help 😐

Hi guys,

I have installed iTunes Producer v2.9 but I still do not get the "what's new" field. I publish it from iBooks Author, then select "this is an update" and filled in a higher version number than the current one. When I have to fill in all the information in iTunes Producer the "what's new" box is not shown. Just like with Francis, only the title is filled in.

I tried all the following things but nothing worked:
- hovering over the area with my cursor

- clicking on the area

- maximizing the screen

- sign out, sign in

- uploading copies

- uploading the original

Literally nothing seems to help. Does anybody have any other tips?

Help would be much appreciated!

Thank you in advance

Hi. What version do you have of iTunes PRoducer 2.9.x ?

I've 2.9.1 (375) and when I open iTunes Producer to create a new book the what's new box doesn't appear.

But... If you try looking for a metada of a published book can you see it when you maximize the window?

Also you should to ensure you are selecting in Ibooks Author that the new version is an update.

Martin

Thanks for your quick reply Martin! I just updated to version iTunes Producer 2.9.1 and now I see the field. I didn't know there was a new version..

So if anyone has any trouble log in to iTunes Connect, select Deliver Your Content and download the latest version of iTunes Producer.

If you have installed the latest version, the instructions are:

In iBooks Author

- select publish

- select this is an update to a previously published book

- insert a higher version number than the current one

- select whether you want iBooks to make a sample, or you want to make your own

- click export

iTunes Producer will open

- below the 'Book Description' box, a box will appear with the title 'What's New in Version?'

- if not, maximize the window and it will appear

- follow the steps and publish your book

Thanks again Martin and good luck everybody.

Kind regards,

Where is the "What's new" field?
