how can I get rid of the static while playing itunes via airplay?

Try the following:

• If connected to a power strip, connect the AirPort Express Base Station (AX) directly to a wall outlet instead.
• If you need to use a power strip, connect the AX to an outlet that is NOT adjacent to another power adapter.
• If you have an earlier model of the AX that plugs directly into the wall, try getting an extension cable for the AX and plug the extension cable into the outlet or power strip.

Then either the AirPort Express itself is faulty or your home's electrical system is the source of the static.

I get that through my iPhone sometimes as well. Figured it out though, Facebook.

When surfing the Facebook app i'd get the static. No Facebook for iPhone airplay i guess.

It just did it again, while I was on here. The technology's just not there yet?
